At Flometrics, Mr. Nykamp is responsible for performing analysis and design by developing mathematical models to predict system performance. He is responsible for seeing that mathematical models accurately correlate to actual performance of the system under test. Mr. Nykamp is also involved with testing and fabrication during the design process. Since starting at Flometrics, he has worked on a large variety of projects, from aerospace projects to consumer goods, as well as, medical devices.
In addition, Mr. Nykamp has developed experience with sensors, data acquisition, and controls. He has worked on numerous projects programming automated lab equipment and building circuits for data acquisition and motor control. Although his past studies have focused on fluid flow and heat transfer, Mr. Nykamp demonstrates a growing interest in the subjects of electronics and controls.
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering UCSD (2007)
Prior to working for Flometrics, Mr. Nykamp worked at General Atomics Photonics Division as a mechanical engineering intern. Here he was responsible for designing thermal controls for optical systems. Overall, Mr. Nykamp has a strong engineering background with emphasis in the areas of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
